CD Japan Book Order Experience - Tokyo to Manila 2019
This isn't the first time that I ordered in CDJ. CDJ had always been a very good online bookstore for Japanese language books and manga. Its prices are cheaper compared to White Rabbit (well maybe because the latter is based in the US). The first time was back in 2014 and was shipped via EMS. I remember that a post office guy delivered it in my doorstep but I have to pay a certain fee (it sucks I know and it shouldn't have been the case!). The second time was in 2015 and was shipped via SAL. During this instance, the books have to be picked up somewhere in QC post office and I can't remember if I paid the fee. All I can recall was it's such a hassle to get to that place just to get these books.
Finally, just last week (Nov 22) I ordered a manga and Try N2 and the shipping method that I chose was DHL which costed me a hefty 2.4k yen or around Php 1.2k. My order was shipped on Nov 25 and I received it the next day Nov 26. It was fast and I was able to track it online! And most importantly, it was delivered right at my doorstep without any additional fees! The books were also sent in a box compared to Book Depository. Also, just recently DHL adjusted its shipping prices so there's not much difference compared to EMS. Another good thing about CD Japan is that they have a rewards points system wherein the rewards that you've accumulated can be used for purchasing in the website. They also have promos and discounts from time to time.
